- +/- 15° yaw or pitch; +/- 20° roll deviation from frontal image
- Inter-pupil spacing larger than 32 pixels (at least 60 pixels recommended)

FaceFirst® intelligent video analytics detect and track faces in live high-definition video. Processing images of 1-2 megapixels at frame rates of 15-20 Hz. allows extremely robust detection to help overcome variation in focus, lighting, and facial orientation. Our latest technology also significantly improves tolerance of sunglasses and other partial occlusions. The face tracking algorithm maintains locks on every face across each frame of video. Only the best sample of each tracked face transmits to the recognition cluster, optimizing bandwidth utilization and computational capacity. In addition, FaceFirst® multi-pass sample selection aggregates multiple appearances of the same individual -- even across cameras -- to provide the highest possible accuracy for both face detection and face recognition.
The identification process incorporates specific techniques to mitigate changes in a person's appearance, including eyewear, hair styles, facial hair, the effects of age, etc. Specializations for gender, age, and ethnicity also improve results. Even with these sophisticated analytics, FaceFirst®'s modular clustered architecture allows flexible deployment options along with massive scalability and extremely low response times.

Comprehensive Alerting and Notification System
Web Based Portal allows comprehensive management of biometric enrollments and powerful watch list and case group management. Sophisticated workflows may be configured and various types of alerts and notifications can be configured to alert individual users, or entire groups of recipients.

Manual Enrollment: Web based enrollment. Picture may be uploaded into the system, manually cropped using draggable cropping guides or automatically cropped by the system. Customizable biographic or criminal records associated with enrollment may be entered manually for each enrollment.
Batch Enrollment: FaceFirst® batch enrollment application is provided to allow powerful batch enrollment into case groups using images and delimited text files.
Case Group Management: Unlimited case groups may be created. ie: VIP, terrorists, Suspects, No board list, etc.
Case groups may be associated with groups of users which will receive notification when person is detected.
Alert Group Management: Unlimited Alert Groups may be created. Alert groups are groups of users who will be notified when a person in an associated case group is identified by the system
User Management: Users can be configured with powerful control over user rights to control login permission for portal, and alert and scheduling preferences. Each user can individually control their alert and group preferences.

Alert Management: The following standard Alert types are supported: Customizable Email Alert with enrollment images and evidence image, custom SMS alert, Custom MMS Alert, XMLRPC Alert.
XMLRPC Alert: The FaceFirst® XMLRPC implementation allows software running on disparate operating systems, running in different environments to make procedure calls over the Internet.
The FaceFirst® XLMRPC alert method is essentially remote procedure calling using HTTP as the transport and XML as the encoding. XML-RPC is designed to be as simple as possible, while allowing complex data structures to be transmitted, processed and returned. Examples: Triggering of dry contacts to open doors, voice notifications, triggering of 3rd party alerting or incident management systems.
Manual Identifications: Users may upload pictures and run identifications against entire watch list using the web-based portal, enabling screenshots or images sent via email to be manually identified using face recognition.
Multitenant Application Architecture: The FaceFirst® platform is built on a multitenant application architecture: Multitenancy refers to a principle in software architecture where a single instance of the software runs on a server, serving multiple client organizations (tenants). With the FaceFirst® multitenant architecture, the application database is designed to virtually partition its data and configuration so that multiple client organizations work with a customized virtual application instance.
FaceFirst® Operator Center The FaceFirst® biometric platform allows infinite customization to alert thresholds and other timing parameters.
The proprietary patent pending FaceFirst® operator center provides a back office console which allows human operators to review matches which fall within the system-defined grey area. Identification events which fall statistically too low automatically trigger alerts, but too high to be ignored, automatically route to the Operator center which allows human verification of the match. Unlike other products on the market which send all possible matches for human review, the FaceFirst™ system mitigates human involvement by only sending low statistical matches for review. This feature lowers the number of human operators by a factor of 10.
Additionally, the FaceFirst® Operator Server automates workflow, similar to a call center environment, by queuing alerts for human review, and sending each alerts to the next available operator, rather than sending all alerts to every console.
Multi Biometric Platform: The FaceFirst® system is a biometric platform. Algorithms and alert methods can be integrated as a plug-in. As the science improves, new biometric algorithms can be rapidly implemented, thus future-proofing the customer. All other systems on the market are tied to one specific algorithm.

FaceFirst® API: The FaceFirst® application programming interface (API) is an interface implemented by the FaceFirst® biometric software platform which enables it to interact with other software or systems. It facilitates interaction between different software programs similar to the way the user interface facilitates interaction between humans and computers. An API is implemented by applications, libraries, and operating systems to determine their vocabularies and calling conventions, and is used to access their services. It includes specifications for routines, data structures, object classes, and protocols used to communicate between the consumer and the implementer of the FaceFirst® API.
The FaceFirst® WebAPI, available via HTTP/HTTPS, contains over 50 functions that support authorization and create, query, update, and delete operations for entities and activities in the FaceFirst® system. Objects present in the system include: Accounts, Users, Images, Cases, CaseGroups, AlertGroups, Logs, and Alerts. There are also simple functions for ad-hoc detect-only and detect-and-recognize face analytics for images. All functions can return data in either XML or JSON formats, according to options specified by the client.
